User-Centered Approach: The design process begins with extensive user research, including empathy mapping and creating proto personas, to understand the target users' needs, pain points, and behaviors related to their finances. The goal is to create a contemporary mobile application that caters to the specific requirements of busy working professionals.
-
Efficiency and Convenience: One of the key design principles is to offer financial organizational tools that are time-efficient and convenient for users. The app aims to help individuals manage their finances more often and more efficiently, allowing them to review their finances quarterly and yearly with ease.
-
Financial Self-Awareness: The app aims to promote financial self-awareness among its users. By providing tools for budgeting, offering budget suggestions, and displaying expenses in different categories, the app helps users become more understanding of their finances and plan for short and long-term financial goals.
-
Accessibility and Inclusivity: Considering the demographic of busy working professionals in the Bay Area, the app focuses on making financial management accessible to this specific group, including 21-26-year-old residents. It aims to cater to introverted, hardworking, and reliable individuals, taking into account their preferences and behaviors.
-
Iterative Design Process: The design process involves various stages of prototyping, from low-fidelity to mid-fidelity wireframes. Usability testing is conducted at different stages to gather user insights and make iterative improvements to the app's design.
-
Feature Prioritization: The app's feature priority matrix indicates the importance and effort required for different features. The team aims to focus on features that address users' pain points, such as providing finance tools for managing budgets conveniently.

Overall, the Finance Tracking App aims to empower users with financial organization, self-awareness, and well-informed budgeting, while ensuring a user-friendly and efficient experience for busy working professionals in the Bay Area.
